The Pathways in Living Education Program has been developed by NAMI of
Greater Chicago members who are consumers of mental health services to educate
their fellow consumers about a deliberate and strengths based approach to plan
for and enhance their own recovery. The
course emphasizes that recovery is a process and presents methods for
inventorying personal strengths, overcoming obstacles to recovery, setting long
and short-term goals, and techniques for utilizing, nurturing, and expanding
the supportive relationships in the consumers’ lives.
