Local Comedian Pledges $2 of Every Book Sale to NAMI of Greater Chicago

Dating Advice Book Hailed as “Fresh, Witty Read”

(Chicago)…..Comedian-turned-author Ian Coburn is pledging $2 of every book sale of his debut book to NAMI Greater Chicago.  The debut book, released end of October '06, is entitled "God is a Woman: Dating Disasters", and is being very well-received (5 star ranking on Amazon!).  The book is hailed as "the freshest, wittiest read in a long time" by the industry, while famous comedians like Rocky LaPorte comment "Loved it!"

Why is the book receiving such praise?  Ian has crossed new ground by writing a dating advice book that is funny, insightful, and for both sexes.  He doesn't brag about successes; instead, he relives his funniest dating failures, and then reviews what he learned and how he put it to good use in the future.

All purchases from Ian's website (www.godisawoman.net) include the $2 donation.   The book is priced $14.95 on www.godisawoman.net and $16.95 elsewhere, including Amazon.  Purchases off www.godisawoman.net includes the donation, so be sure to pick up your copy off www.godisawoman.net .  Reviews, excerpts and a sample chapter are on the site (just released in time for Holiday shopping.)

Coburn’s involvement with NAMI of Greater Chicago goes back several years to when he put on a standup charity show for the organization.  Wanting to do more for NAMI of Greater Chicago, Coburn felt the $2 donation from each book was a great opportunity to help children with mental illness.

Coburn has been called "Very funny" by Drew Carey, and "Very talented" by Damon Wayans, as well as other celebrities.

The mission of NAMI of Greater Chicago is to provide hope and improve the quality of life for those in the greater Chicago area whose lives are affected by serious mental illness.
